2.2 Creating a New Quality Review

How to configure review scope, timing, and structure to ensure accurate, consistent photo validation.

Overview

Creating a Quality Review in Pathwave establishes the framework for validating photos captured against required photo lists. Reviewers can define the scope of the review, set scheduling expectations, and initiate real-time collaboration between office teams and field personnel.

Quality Reviews are created at the job level and can encompass all required photos or a smaller, targeted subset—offering flexibility for teams of any size or project complexity.

How to Create a New Review

To initiate a review:

  • Open the job in the Pathwave portal.
  • Navigate to the Job Overview tab.
  • Locate the Quality Review module.
  • Select + Review.

This opens the review creation panel where you will define the review details.

Step 1: Name the Review

Enter a descriptive name that clearly identifies the purpose or scope of the review.

Examples:

  • “Foundation Photos – Initial Review”
  • “Site Owner Checklist Validation”
  • “Tower Modifications – Targeted Audit”

Tip: Descriptive names help internal teams and reviewers understand the intent of the review at a glance.

Step 2: Select the Review Type

Choose one of the three available scope options:

  • All Primary Photos: Includes all required items on the Primary Photo List.
  • All Site Owner Photos: Includes all items required by the Site Owner Photo List.
  • Targeted Review: Allows the reviewer to select a specific section or subset of the photo list. Ideal for:
    • Partial audits
    • Re-inspections
    • Follow-up checks
    • Program-specific requirements

Only the selected section(s) will appear in the Quality Review workspace.

Step 3: Set the Scheduled Start and End Dates (Optional)

These fields allow reviewers to define:

  • When the review is expected to begin
  • When it should be completed

Scheduled dates provide structure and are especially valuable in programs with formal review expectations. Many suppliers use scheduled Quality Reviews as part of a PQA (Picture Quality Audit) process—assigning a review to a project while teams are actively in the field. This allows office reviewers to validate photo quality in real time, ensuring issues are corrected before crews demobilize.

Actual review dates populate automatically as reviewer activity occurs, allowing teams to compare scheduled timelines against real execution.

Step 4: Save and Begin the Review

Once configured, select Save.

The review will appear in the Quality Review module for that job and will also surface in the global Quality Review Dashboard (accessible via the left-hand navigation).

Note: Only one review may be in progress for a job at a time. However, multiple reviewers may participate in the same review session.

What Happens After You Create a Review

Once the review is created:

  • The review opens in the Quality Review workspace.
  • Photos are automatically organized into action categories (e.g., Need Review, Rejected, Resubmitted).
  • Field crews can immediately see any rejected or missing items in the Pathwave mobile app.
  • Reviewer activity will track under the scheduled and actual date fields.
  • The review will be visible on the job and on the Quality Review Dashboard.
  • This marks the beginning of real-time collaboration between reviewers and field users.

Note: A review may only include photos from Primary or Site Owner photo lists.
Internal photo lists do not surface in the Quality Review workflow.
