1.2 How Photo Lists Power the Quality Review Workflow
Understanding how Pathwave’s photo requirements drive real-time review, validation, and corrective action.
Overview
Quality Review in Pathwave is fully driven by the structure and requirements defined in a job’s photo lists. These lists establish the expected photo documentation for each job, determine which items must be reviewed, and provide the framework that organizes captured photos into actionable review categories.
Understanding how Primary and Site Owner photo lists connect to Quality Review is essential for ensuring accurate field documentation and consistent quality assurance.
Primary and Site Owner Photo Lists
Pathwave supports multiple photo list types, but only Primary and Site Owner photo lists participate in the Quality Review workflow.
- Primary Photo List
The core list of required photos that must be captured for the job. This list represents the minimum standard for compliance and is the foundation of all Quality Reviews. - Site Owner Photo List
Additional or site-specific requirements provided by the project owner. These requirements feed directly into Quality Reviews when selected.
When creating a Quality Review, the reviewer can choose to review:
- All Primary Photos
- All Site Owner Photos
- A Targeted Section of either list
This provides flexibility for both full-scope audits and focused deliverable checks.
How Photo Lists Drive Review Categories
Each item on a photo list maps directly to the categories displayed in the Quality Review module:
- Photos Not Taken – Required items with no photos captured
- Need Review – Items awaiting reviewer action
- Rejected Photos – Items marked incorrect or incomplete
- Resubmitted Photos – Items with replacement photos pending review
- Missing Photos – Additional placeholders created by the reviewer
- Accepted Photos – Items fully approved
The structure of the photo lists ensures every required item is reviewed, surfaced, and validated.
Ensuring Consistency Across Teams
Photo lists act as a standardized framework across suppliers, GCs, subcontractors, and internal teams. They ensure:
- Clear field expectations
- Repeatable review workflows
- Consistent deliverable standards
- Predictable photo documentation across all partners
This consistency is especially critical for multi-vendor programs or carrier-driven requirements.
Impact of Photo List Updates
- When photo list templates are updated, the changes immediately apply to new jobs created after the update.
- Existing jobs retain the prior version of the list to protect review integrity for documentation already in progress.
Note: Quality Review is not available for photos captured on Internal photo lists.
Internal lists are intended for partner-specific or internal-use documentation and do not surface in the Quality Review module.
