4.1 Navigating the Quality Review Workspace

How Pathwave organizes photos, categories, and tools to guide reviewers through an efficient and structured Quality Review.

Overview

The Quality Review workspace in Pathwave is designed to give reviewers a clear, organized, and intuitive environment for validating field photos. Once a review is created, this workspace becomes the control center for evaluating photos, managing corrective actions, and communicating with field teams.

The layout surfaces everything reviewers need—photo categories, review actions, field responses, and visual tools—in a single, structured interface.

Workspace Layout

The Quality Review workspace is divided into key functional areas:

1. Category Toolbar (Top of the Workspace)

Displays the six core photo categories, each with a real-time count. These categories drive the entire review process and make it clear who needs to act next — the reviewer or the field team.

  • Photos Not Taken
  • Need Review
  • Resubmitted Photos
  • Rejected Photos
  • Missing Photos
  • Accepted Photos
Each category shows a count of photos currently assigned to it. These categories drive the entire review process by clearly showing:
  • What needs attention
  • Who needs to act (reviewer or field team)
  • How close the review is to completion

This is the primary navigation for the reviewer.

2. Photo List Pane

When a reviewer selects a category, the photo list pane displays:

  • All photos within that category
  • Photo labels and names
  • Thumbnail previews
  • Any reviewer-added comments or markup indicators

This allows reviewers to quickly scan, select, and open photos for detailed review.

3. Photo Detail View

Selecting a photo opens the full-screen photo detail view, which includes:

  • Accept / Reject buttons
  • Markup tools (highlight, arrow, circle, etc.)
  • Rejection Reasons (standard and partner-customized)
  • Comment field
  • Original and resubmitted photo comparison
  • Review history showing all past actions and comments

This is where reviewers perform the most critical actions of the review.

4. Quality Review Summary Panel

The Review Summary Panel gives reviewers a concise, real-time snapshot of the entire review.

Photo Progress Metrics

  • Total Number of Photos in the review
    • Surfacing photo count for the day
  • Number of Photos Reviewed, indicating how many items have been evaluated

These metrics help reviewers understand progress and remaining workload at a glance.

Review Metadata

The panel also displays:

  • Review Type
  • Review Status (New, In Progress, Completed, Canceled)
  • Reviewer(s) Participating
  • Scheduled Start and End Dates (if applicable)
  • Actual Start and End Dates

This ensures full transparency during the review process and supports multi-reviewer collaboration.

Core Review Actions

  • Accepting photos
  • Rejecting photos with markup/comments
  • Creating Missing Photos
  • Removing irrelevant photos from review
  • Viewing submission history
  • All updates sync instantly across reviewers and field teams.

Note: The Review Workspace only displays photos from Primary and Site Owner photo lists. Internal photo lists do not participate in Quality Review.
