How to Register in the Pathwave Portal

A user can register with Pathwave after their company has added them as “Personnel” from the portal.  Add your team to Personnel in the Pathwave portal. Any user can register using the Pathwave Portal.

To Register:

  1. Navigate to https://portal.pathwave.com/
  2. Select "Register".
  3. Enter your company’s Partner ID (What is my Partner ID?) and your email on file.
  4. Verify your registration with a code sent to your email on file.

Registration With SMS or Email Verification

This article explains how to complete the Pathwave registration process, including how to choose between SMS and email for receiving your registration and MFA codes.


1. Registration Requirements

Before starting the registration process, ensure you have the following:

  • Partner ID for your organization
  • Email address
  • U.S. mobile phone number to be listed on your account
    • The phone number must be U.S.-based
    • The number does not need to be able to receive SMS messages

2. Start Registration in the Pathwave Portal

All users must complete registration through the Portal (web).

  1. Navigate to https://portal.pathwave.com/auth/register.
  2. Enter your Partner ID (What is my Partner ID?) and Email.
  3. Click Next.

3. Receiving Your Registration Code

After entering your information during registration, Pathwave will default to sending the registration code by SMS.

Choosing Email Instead of SMS

Users may choose to receive the registration code by email instead of SMS.

  • Select “Send Code by Email” on the registration screen.

  • The registration code will be delivered to the email address you entered.
  • If you choose email during registration, all future MFA codes will also be sent by email, including MFA requests initiated from the mobile app.

Note: The mobile app may continue to display “Code sent via SMS,” even when codes are sent via email. This display does not affect the delivery method.


4. Complete Account Setup

Once you receive your registration code:

  1. Enter the code into the Portal.
  2. Create your password.
  3. Finalize your user profile.
  4. Log in using your selected MFA method

Your account is now active and ready for use.


5. Updating MFA After Registration

You may update how you prefer to receive MFA codes at any time.

User Settings

  • Go to Portal → User Settings → Multi-factor Authentication Method
  • Choose Text Message or Email
  • Save changes

Partner Admin Updates

Partner Admins can modify MFA preferences for users in their organization through the Personnel section of the Portal.

Pathwave Internal Updates

Pathwave employees with administrative permissions can also update MFA preferences using the Personnel Admin Tool.
