# Personnel Positions, Required Certifications, & Missing Certifications

Positions can be used to track career progression, titles, special roles, and required certifications. Configuring Positions in the Pathwave portal enables safety teams, management, and owners to identify [Missing Certifications](https://support.pathwave.com/hc/en-us/articles/5160862816781#h_01FZZPZGHTWQ6GYD6EPGHZMJ35) for team members to facilitate upcoming training and crew deployment.

### **Identify Required Certifications for each Position**

To track and report on missing certifications for each team member, create Personnel Positions and configure Required Certifications for each position. Learn how to [configure required certifications](https://support.pathwave.com/hc/en-us/articles/5323603906189?hsLang=en).

### **Track Missing Certifications for each crew member and personnel**

Track required and missing crew qualifications and certifications by team member position.​ To track and report on missing certifications for each team member:

When positions are assigned to personnel, [Missing Certifications](https://support.pathwave.com/hc/en-us/articles/5350715187853?hsLang=en) become visible on each team member's profile and the [Missing Certifications Report](https://support.pathwave.com/hc/en-us/articles/5350715187853?hsLang=en) is populated with team information.

Configure [Required Certifications for a Position](https://portal.pathwave.com/configuration/personnel/positions) in the Pathwave Portal to [report on Missing Certification](https://portal.pathwave.com/reports/missingcertifications) for Personnel.

### **View the JSA initiated and closed time from the Portal dashboard **

Date and time the JHA was initiated and closed on site for the day is now available on the dashboard.
